Do you want to see how your tax dollars are spent? Are you interested in learning about major economic development deals, infrastructure investments and new programs and initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life in The American Dream City?
If so, we invite you to take a few moments to review the City of Arlington's Fiscal Year 2025 Popular Annual Financial Report. Designed with the public in mind, this report provides key financial information in an easy-to-understand format alongside short articles and photos that highlight investments, programs, services, cultural events and community engagement initiatives that aim to enhance the quality of life here in Arlington.
FY25 Popular Annual Financial Report
This citizen-friendly report coincides with the release of the City’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. An independent auditor recently issued a clean opinion on the City’s financial statements for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2025, confirming the City’s strong financial management practices and commitment to accountability and transparency.
"Our Finance team is incredibly proud to provide the community with a clear and accurate window into the City’s fiscal operations," Chief Financial Officer Spenser Slider said. "Financial transparency is a cornerstone of good governance, and this report ensures that our residents can easily understand where our revenues come from, how funds are being invested back into our community, and the overall strength of our financial health.”
FY25 marked a period of financial transition, as broader economic conditions evolved, so did our approach to resource management. Shifting from the tailwinds of a post COVID-19 recovery to a more measured revenue environment called for the kind of thoughtful, deliberate stewardship that responsible governance demands. That meant making intentional choices grounded in what our residents have told us matters most. The opening of the new ACTIV Center and the launch of the Clean Team are two examples of that commitment in action among many others. Together, these investments reflect the continued progress our community deserves, backed by the fiscal discipline that has always defined Arlington's financial strategy.
FY25 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
Don't just take our word for it; Arlington routinely submits itself to review by some of the most respected organizations in local government, and the results speak for themselves. For FY25, that includes the Government Finance Officers Association's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, the National Procurement Institute's Achievement of Excellence in Procurement, and all six Transparency Stars from the Texas Comptroller's Office, a distinction that few cities in the state can claim.
Additionally, Arlington has earned accreditations and awards across public safety, infrastructure, parks, and utilities; including recognition from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, the Emergency Management Accreditation Program, the American Public Works Association, the Texas Recreation and Park Society's Gold Medal, and the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies' Gold Award for exceptional utility performance. Taken together, these reflect the commitment to excellence that Arlington's employees bring to their work every single day and the independent validation that they are delivering on it.
In addition to these two annual reports, the City offers a range of financial information online.
