Paws to Read
Young readers can build confidence and practice their reading skills at Paws to Read on Thursday, June 4 from 3–4 p.m. at the Southwest Branch Library. In partnership with Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs, children ages 5–12 can read aloud to friendly therapy dogs in a relaxed, encouraging environment. With 10-minute reading sessions and plenty of wagging tails, this program makes reading both fun and rewarding.
First Thursdays in Downtown Arlington
Downtown Arlington comes alive during First Thursdays on Thursday, June 4 from 5–8 p.m. throughout Downtown Arlington, Texas. This month’s event features a New Orleans-inspired sidewalk musical procession led by the Revelers Hall Brass Band, interactive lion dance performances by the Jiu Long Lion Dance Troupe, a community drum circle, live street musicians, and a downtown photo walk for all skill levels.
Visitors can also explore dozens of special activities hosted by local businesses, including karaoke, live art, DIY crafts, games, music performances, and family-friendly experiences throughout the Downtown Cultural District. Whether you're looking to make art, enjoy live entertainment, or simply stroll and explore, First Thursdays offers a fun-filled evening celebrating the creativity and energy of downtown Arlington.
Concerts at Levitt Pavilion
Another weekend of free live music is headed to downtown Arlington on June 5–6 from 7:10–10 p.m. at Levitt Pavilion Arlington. Friday, June 5 features the Levitt Youth Spotlight presented by Texas Trust Credit Union at 7:10 p.m., followed by Taylor LaCourse and Jesse Spradlin at 7:30 p.m. and Texas country-rock favorites Prophets and Outlaws at 8:30 p.m.
The music continues on Saturday, June 6 with another Youth Spotlight performance at 7:10 p.m., The Branded Saddle Boys at 7:30 p.m., and rising country artist Tristan Roberson headlining at 8:30 p.m. Whether you're a fan of country, rock, or discovering new local talent, it's another great weekend to grab a lawn chair, gather some friends, and enjoy live music under the Texas sky.
Downtown Arlington Classic Car Show
Classic cars, custom rides, and automotive history take center stage at the Downtown Arlington Car Show on Saturday, June 6 from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. throughout Downtown Arlington. This annual event transforms downtown into an open-air showcase featuring hundreds of vehicles, from vintage classics and muscle cars to modern customs and unique collector favorites.
Whether you're a dedicated car enthusiast or simply looking for a fun day out, the event offers plenty to explore while enjoying local shops, restaurants, and the vibrant atmosphere of downtown Arlington.
World of the Orchestra Instrument Petting Zoo
Young music lovers can explore the sounds of the symphony at the World of the Orchestra Instrument Petting Zoo on Monday, June 2 from 2:00–3:00 p.m. at the City Council Chambers. Presented by Symphony Arlington, this interactive program gives children the chance to hear, touch, and learn about orchestra instruments through storytime, live music, and hands-on exploration. Designed especially for preschool and kindergarten-aged children, the event offers a fun introduction to the world of classical music.
