Homicide Investigation - Report #2026-02050735

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 54-year-old man.

On Friday, July 24, 2026, at approximately 8:43 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Highlander Boulevard and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Drive to investigate multiple reports of shots fired.

When they arrived on scene, they located a pickup truck that went off the roadway into a grassy area near the southwest corner of the intersection. The driver, a 54-year-old man, was unresponsive. Paramedics removed him from the vehicle and officers could see he had multiple apparent gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing the driver of another vehicle fire shots at the victim, then leave the area traveling westbound along Highlander Blvd.

Detectives are currently following up on several leads. No arrests have been made at this time.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.
