Thanks to a $25,000 grant from national nonprofit Petco Love received last May, Arlington Animal Services has been able to strengthen and expand their Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts for cats across Arlington. As a benefit of this investment, Arlington Animal Services continues to offer free and accessible Feral Cat services to Arlington residents. TNR is one of the most effective tools available to address community cat overpopulation and reduce shelter intake, as well as improve animal welfare.

Arlington Animal Services is excited to continue offering Feral Cat clinics free of charge, made possible because of this grant from Petco Love. As part of Arlington Animal Services TNR initiative, Feral Cat clinics provide free spaying and neutering services, as well as rabies vaccination and ear tipping for feral cats brought in by Arlington residents.

Free TNR services help address the pet overpopulation crisis by removing the financial burden often associated with spaying or neutering community cats. The program is an important part of Arlington’s efforts to improve the lives of cats in the community.

"This generous grant from Petco Love is a game-changer for our community,” said Ashley Woolnough, Arlington Animal Services Manager. “By investing in TNR, we aren't just managing the community cat population; we are proactively reducing shelter intake and ensuring every cat in our neighborhood has the chance to live a healthy, outdoor life without the cycle of constant reproduction."

Since receiving the Petco Love Grant in May of 2025, Arlington Animal Services has been able to provide TNR services to 267 cats. These free clinics offer Arlington residents a way to help reduce the overpopulation of community cats, minimize nuisance behaviors, and improve quality of life. Whether you are a cat caretaker, a concerned neighbor or citizen, or someone who cares about humane solutions to help the pet overpopulation problem, the success of Arlington’s TNR program through the Petco Love grant demonstrates how simple efforts can make a valuable, long-lasting impact throughout our community.

Arlington Animal Services offers TNR Feral Cat clinics on Sundays scheduled throughout the year, typically once a month. TNR clinics are open to Arlington residents and are held at Arlington Animal Services Moritz Clinic, located at 1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd. Check the Arlington Animal Services event calendar for a complete list of scheduled Feral Cat Sunday dates.
