Learn About City's FY27 Budget at Aug. 13, Aug. 26 Town Hall Meetings

FY 2027 Budget

Residents can learn more about the City of Arlington's proposed $765.8 million Fiscal Year 2027 operating budget at two upcoming town hall meetings and the Neighborhood Leadership Network meeting.

In-person budget town hall meetings are scheduled for:

  • 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, at the Dr. Theron L. Bowman Police South District Service Center, 1030 SW Green Oaks Blvd.
  • 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 101 W. Abram St.

Additionally, City Manager Trey Yelverton will discuss the proposed budget at the Neighborhood Leadership Network meeting, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 101 W. Abram St. Street parking and ADA parking is available on South Center Street or at the West City Public Parking Lot on South Pecan and West Abram streets.

About the Budget

The Arlington City Council took its first look Aug. 4 at the proposed operating budget. While keeping the City’s property tax rate flat, the proposal restores funding for Animal Services and the Public Library that was cut during last year’s budget balancing and calls for additional investments in public safety, street maintenance and enhanced technology for 9-1-1 Dispatch, the Municipal Court and public parks.

Proposals for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1, also include recommendations for small increases in residents’ water and wastewater rates and garbage and recycling collection rates but no increases in the stormwater fee. The City Council will vote on the budget and property tax rate in September.
