Jayden Scurlock, a senior on Sam Houston High School’s football team, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for October 2025.

Scurlock, a captain for the Texans, was selected 2nd Team All-District his junior year.

“Jayden leads by example,” said Chris James, Sam Houston High School Head Football Coach. “He’s the first on in the building and the last one to leave. He’s a soft spoken kid. When he’s not on the field and when he gets on the field and puts the helmet on, he’s going 90 mph.”

After he graduates, Jayden plans on attending Texas Christian University and plans on majoring in Environmental Science.
