Visitors can step into the world of spiders and scorpions as “The Art and Science of Arachnids,” billed as the nation’s largest touring arachnid exhibit, opens at River Legacy Nature Center Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025. The traveling show invites guests to explore the often-misunderstood creatures through interactive displays, oversized sculptures, live animals and artwork linking arachnids to medicine, music and folklore.

The exhibit offers hands-on activities, including opportunities to weave a web and learn about the science of spider silk, assemble arachnid models in the Spider Lab, view an art gallery inspired by arachnid forms, practice the traditional Tarantella dance and examine macro photography.

Organizers say the experience is designed for families, nature enthusiasts and anyone curious enough to come face-to-face with live arachnids and uncover the stories woven through silk and time.

Produced by Little Ray’s Exhibitions, one of North America’s largest exotic animal rescues, the exhibit is sponsored by Meta’s Data Center Community Action Grant program, which supports local schools and nonprofits.

Admission is $10 for adults, $9 for military members, first responders and seniors, and $7 for children. Children 2 and under are admitted free. Tickets are sold at the Nature Center’s front desk.

The exhibit is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with ticket sales ending at 4:30 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Those unable to attend opening day will have plenty of time to visit as the exhibit runs through February 2026.
