Families in Arlington can get a fun, hands-on start to the new school year at Money and Me, a free event focused on building smart money habits.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Downtown Arlington Library, 100 S. Center St. It’s open to families with kids in kindergarten through fifth grade and features interactive workshops and activities that make learning about money easy and fun.
Workshops kick off at 10:30 a.m. and include topics like:
- Earning money
- Weighing needs vs. wants
- Saving and spending, and
- Setting goals.
Sessions are led by local partners including Chase Bank, YSCO Consulting and Prosperity Bank.
Families can also explore activity tables hosted by local organizations, get moving with outdoor games provided by YMCA’s Y on the Fly, and collect stamps in a special “passport” as kids complete activities. Once they fill up their passport, they’ll receive a free backpack.
Money and Me is hosted by United Way of Tarrant County–Greater Arlington’s Financial Stability Partnership Subcommittee. The group works year-round to connect families with resources that support financial self-sufficiency, including free tax help.
