The City of Arlington and Gra-Tex Utilities will soon begin construction to replace 2,570 feet of sanitary sewer mains and 640 feet of water mains along South Pleasant Circle and Mary & Jimmie Hooper Park

Want to learn more about the project near West Pleasant Ridge Road and South Bowen Road? A public meeting is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, in the Community Room of Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch Library, 4000 W. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, TX 76016. Parking will be available in the library parking lot. Water department engineers and Gra-Tex Utilities representatives will be available to answer questions at the meeting. Bring a neighbor!

As part of the project, existing 6-inch to 15-inch water and sanitary sewer mains will be replaced with new 8-inch to 15-inch mains. Once the water and sanitary sewer main improvements are complete, approximately 1,500 square yards of asphalt pavement will be reconstructed. These improvements will replace aging infrastructure with a history of water main breaks, reduce maintenance costs, and improve service to your neighborhoods.

Construction on the project is set to begin this month and be complete by fall 2026. Please note that the construction sequence may be adjusted as work progresses. Learn more about street projects that are under construction by visiting www.ArlingtonTX.gov/streettracker.
