Wicked Threads: The Artistry of Costume in Oz AND Princess Diana: Accredited Access Exhibition at the Arlington Museum of Art

Following the release of the highly anticipated film, the Arlington Museum of Art will debut a collection of costumes from Wicked (2024) celebrating the artistry of the costume design and twenty-one years of the beloved Broadway musical Wicked. The Princess Diana: Accredited Access Exhibition will feature a collection of larger-than-life images taken by Diana’s trusted friend and Official Royal Photographer, the late Anwar Hussein, as well as his sons Samir and Zak. Each image will be accompanied by first-hand accounts of the stories behind the world-famous moments, told through an in-depth audio guide.

The American Rodeo

The American Rodeo Championship Weekend returns to Globe Life Field from April 11-12, 2025. The event will feature special performances by country music stars, with Bailey Zimmerman set to headline on Friday, April 11 and Riley Green with special guest Ella Langley slated for Saturday, April 12. National Pet Day

Let's "paws" to celebrate National Pet Day and spoil our pampered pets on April 11, 2025! If you are looking for a new, loveable cat or dog to join your pack, Arlington Animal Services wants to help you find the right match! Arlington Animal Services is offering a discounted pet adoption fee of $10 for dogs and cats designated as a Very Important Pet (VIP) that are looking for their fur-ever homes. Animals can be listed as VIP for a variety of reasons, including time they've spent at the shelter, available space at the shelter, being a senior pet over 8 years of age or other behavior or special needs. Cat adoption fees are $90 and dog adoption fees are $100. All adoption fees, including those for VIP dogs or cats, include pet vaccinations, spaying or neutering, a microchip, a city license for Arlington residents, and heartworm testing for dogs or FIV/FELV testing for cats. Little Explorers – Downtown Library

Stop by The Children’s Play Room at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library on 10 a.m. Fridays for a morning of play-based learning.  This come-and-go program will vary week-to-week as librarians explore art, math, science, engineering, and fine motor skills.  Join the Arlington Public Library for a playfully discover the world around us! Family Storytime – Southeast Branch Library

Join the Arlington Public Library’s fabulous library staff to sing, read and wiggle during storytime at the Southeast Branch Library 10:30 a.m. Fridays. This storytime is geared for ages 2-5. They will read books, sing songs, and have an activity after the program each week. Chocolate in the Archives

Join UTA Libraries Special Collections and English Professor Amy Tigner for a unique chocolate experience 12-1 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, in the Special Collections area located in the Central Library on the 6th floor, at 702 Planetarium Pl., Arlington, TX. You will explore the rich history of chocolate with an opportunity to taste historic recipes. This event is free and open to all, while supplies last!

Storytime at River Legacy Nature Center

Come celebrate stories and nature in a special storytime 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at River Legacy Nature Center! This program is recommended for ages 3-8. Registration Required. Storytime will be held outdoors at the Nature Center, weather permitting. The program will be moved indoors in the case of excessive heat or inclement weather.

Art After Dark: Arab American Heritage Month

Explore your creative side in this after hours artsy program for adults, celebrating Arab American Heritage Month 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Northeast Branch Library. In this special edition, watch a captivating calligraphy demonstration using traditional bamboo reed pens, learn to write your name in Arabic on canvas, and create a Hamsa hand keychain. Explore a gallery featuring beautifully painted works by a local artist.

Zombie Prom

Run like crazy, the zombies are coming! Shake the dirt off that fancy outfit and shamble over to the library's Zombie Prom... with a pulse. You will have a ghoulishly good time at the 3rd annual Zombie Prom 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Southeast Branch Library! This after-hours program just for teens will be a night to dismember. Join for arts and crafts and a competition at the end to see who will be crowned Zombie royalty. Yoga at the Lake Arlington Garden

Join for a free outdoor yoga class at the Lake Arlington Native Plant and Pollinator Garden 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025. Space is limited. Arlington Water Utilities and Tarrant Regional Water District are working with local conservation stakeholders and community groups to restore native prairie and wildflowers to 2.75 acres of land adjacent to the Lake Arlington Dam. This gated area at 5500 Lake Arlington Drive also features demonstration garden beds with native plants.

Downtown Arlington Farmers Market

The Downtown Arlington Farmers Market runs every Saturday through November from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Front and Center Streets. The market will feature fresh, locally-source produce, unique artisan goods and community connection.

Sewing Retreat: Bucket Hat

Welcome to the Sewing Retreat where you will make a bucket hat for your outdoor activities 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2025, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library’s Create Room. Registration is required. You will receive an email with further information about the project and materials needed. This class is appropriate for adults and sewing machine experience is required.

Bunny Hops & Spring Snap Shots

Enjoy a photo with the Easter Bunny or a Spring Background 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the East Library and Recreation Center. It is $5 per family. Pre-registration is required.

Spring Storytime in the Garden

Come celebrate spring with a special family event 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Lake Arlington Native Plant and Pollinator Garden at 5500 Lake Arlington Drive! Join Ms. Dawn for a 30-minute garden theme storytime. Afterwards, walk around the garden beds and learn more about the drought resistant Texas native plants from Ms. Peterson and receive a plant to take home.  Families are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket, packed a lunch, and enjoy a fun morning in the garden! Register for this program on the City of Arlington’s Water Department Volunteer form (select April 12 event). Rhythm & Relics is Arlington's newest pop-up market, bringing together a curated selection of vintage, handmade, and one-of-a-kind goods. Held every 2nd Saturday from 12-5 PM at Binion's Ice House, this outdoor market blends music, art, and community in a vibrant setting just minutes from AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field. Enjoy a unique shopping experience with 40 vendors, DJ entertainment by DJ Culturegang & DJ El Macho, drink specials from Binion's, and adoptable dogs from The Love Pit. Easter Scavenger Hunt

Join for a FREE and fun afternoon 3-5 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, as you explore Elzie Odom Athletic Center looking for all things Easter! All ages are welcome to attend and will receive candy and eggs as you mark off each item on your map. Activities will include a scavenger hunt, bounce house, games, face painting, and children's activities.

Calligraphy Workshop: Arab American Heritage Month

Discover the art of Arabic calligraphy with master calligrapher Hayder Mohsin 6-8 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Northeast Branch Library. Explore traditional styles while learning from his expertise in classical Baghdad and Ottoman techniques. Hayder Mohsin is a master calligrapher and educator with over 15 years of training in the classical Baghdad and Ottoman calligraphy schools. Founder of the American Islamic Arts Academy, he teaches and lectures internationally, preserving the rich traditions of Arabic calligraphy while inspiring new generations of artists.

Fight Night Live!

Ventana Grille at the Tierra Verde Golf Club clubhouse is now serving brunch from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. each Sunday.
