The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation Board of Directors approved eight grants totaling $735,000 at their April board meeting.
The Foundation's mission is to contribute to a thriving Arlington by supporting the causes which benefit Arlington's citizens and enhance the natural surroundings and lifestyle of the city. The Foundation most recently approved the following grants:
Arlington Urban Ministries – Program Support | $50,000
Since 2001, Arlington Urban Ministries has been dedicated to supporting Arlington’s most vulnerable residents during times of financial crisis. Their financial assistance and support program is aimed at preventing homelessness and utility disconnections among low-income residents of Arlington. The project focuses on providing emergency assistance while offering case management and connecting individuals with long-term community resources to promote financial stability.
Cancer Care Services – HELP=HOPE For Patients, Caregivers and Survivors Impacted by Cancer in Arlington, TX| $50,000
Cancer Care Services’ mission has been to support cancer patients, care for caregivers and empower survivors to reduce the impact of cancer in Tarrant County. In 2023, they served 450 Arlington residents, providing a total of $79,985 in direct financial services. Their goal is to continue to increase the number of clients from the Arlington community. The grant will help support their HELP + HOPE services, which provides direct financial assistance for healthcare premiums, medication copays, transportation to and from treatments and medical appointments, nutrition supplements and emergency funds for basic needs to low-income patients.
City of Arlington Community Court – Community Wrap-Around Services| $50,000
The Arlington Municipal Court began forming a Community Court in 2023, officially opening its doors in 2024. A Community Court is a non-traditional approach for individuals who are suffering from mental health issues, addiction struggles, or financial difficulties. The Court provides practical, targeted solutions rather than traditional punishment. The grant from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will help provide wrap-around services, including funding for counseling, phones so homeless clients can keep in contact with their case managers and social works, drug testing for participants with issues, Uber or Lyft vouchers to transport participants for programs, and other services as needed.
Destiny Empowerment Enterprises (DEE), Inc. - Rachel's House Supervised Independent Living Program | $10,000
Destiny Empowerment Enterprises (DEE), Inc. is committed to transforming the lives of economically disadvantaged children and families through education, social services, community development and the arts. The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation grant will go towards completing facility renovations at their transitional living facility, Rachel’s House. The program provides stable housing and comprehensive supportive services for young adult women who are aging out of the foster care system and want to pursue post-secondary education. The facility is located just minutes from the University of Texas at Arlington.
National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation - Commemoration of the End-of-the War in Vietnam | $30,000
In April, North Texas veteran’s organizations came together to host “A Salute to Vietnam Veterans,” a free community event to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. This is one of the first public events to be held at the new national Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington.
Texas Health Resources Foundation – Renovation of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital Breast Center and Women’s Center | $500,000
The Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital Breast Center was constructed in 1985 and serves more than 9,000 women per year. While Texas Health has upgraded equipment at the Breast Center over the years, the facility has only had minimal updates over the past four decades. With the grant from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation, Texas Health will renovate the Breast Center, giving the facility a much-needed refresh and outfitting clinical spaces with additional equipment to serve more patients in a more efficient way. They will also update the Women’s Center to communicate to patients and the Arlington community that the hospital cares deeply about providing pre- and post-natal care to pregnant mothers and their families.
Trinity Kids, Inc. – Royal Family Kids Camp | $15,000
Trinity Kids was founded to focus on the growth and development of local children who have suffered from abuse, neglect and abandonment. In July of 2025, Trinity Kids is planning to provide two one-week long overnight camps for a total of 128 children in the CPS system. The funds from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will help pay for a portion of the transportation needs for these camps.
Tarrant To & Through Partnership (T3) | $30,000
In 2020, Fort Worth and Tarrant County leaders recognized a significant gap in how the education system prepared students for the workforce. T3 was created to ensure the students who most critically need employment opportunities are supported on their journey to a career across pivotal transition periods, from middle school to high school to postsecondary education. Support from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will help provide Postsecondary Pathways support at Lamar High School, which begins when students enter high school and supports students to the point of higher education with advisors providing individualized planning and support.
During the 2025 Fiscal Year, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation Board of Directors has approved a total of 14 grants totaling over $1,000,000. Here are the grants the Foundation approved earlier this fiscal year:
Arlington Music Hall - Marquee | $150,000
The Arlington Music Hall (AMH) has a 75-year tradition of providing live entertainment to the Arlington community at its Center Street location.
In November 2024, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation approved funds to renovate the marquee sign at AMH. This was part of a bigger renovation project by AMH to improve its marquee, production lighting & sound, security, and the stage backdrop. Upgrading the marquee will create a better experience for AMH customers, employees, and artists.
Texas Veteran’s Day Parade in Arlington Foundation - Texas Veteran's Day Parade in Arlington | $50,000
In November, Arlington residents and the North Texas community came together for the first Texas Veteran’s Day Parade in Arlington. The event provided a unique opportunity to foster a sense of patriotism and American pride, celebrating veterans and military service. The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation approved a $50,000 grant for the 2024 Parade and the 2025 Parade.
Arlington Police Association – Santa Cops | $5,000
The Arlington Police Association Santa Cop Program is a 30-plus-year community effort led by the Arlington Police Association Foundation and the Arlington Police Department in conjunction with the Arlington Independent School District and the City of Arlington to provide a memorable Christmas for the underserved children of Arlington.
All the work is done by volunteers. The money used each year goes entirely to buy toys and food for the families who attend our annual Santa Cop party.
Advocates for Special People – Capital Support for Transportation Vans at the Special Connexions Program | $60,000
Advocates for Special People (ASP) is a nonprofit organization in Arlington serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Once a child with IDD reaches adulthood and ages out of the school system, care options that offer engaging and inclusive activities drastically narrow for that individual. The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation approved a grant in January 2025, to help ASP purchase new vans for community excursions that will help ASP continue to provide enriching, valuable experiences to their clients with IDD without raising tuition and excluding families who need support.
CASA of Tarrant County - Advocating for Arlington's Abused and Neglected Children | $75,000
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Tarrant County is an organization of volunteer advocates who stand up on behalf of abused and neglected children. Currently, 50 Arlington residents are CASA volunteers, comprising 15% of the agency’s volunteers. These volunteers gather critical information judges need to determine what’s in the child’s best interests, advocating for the child’s needs in all areas, and help judges decide if a child should return home to their parents, be placed with relatives, or be adopted.
Of the Tarrant County children who had a CASA volunteer and left foster care in 2023, 92% found a permanent family when they left foster care and 64% were kept with their families through reunification with parents or placement with relatives. For Tarrant County children who didn’t have a CASA volunteer when they left foster care last year, only 86% of them found a permanent home and 58% were kept with their families through reunification or relative placements. The Arlington Tomorrow Foundation approved a grant to support CASA of Tarrant County’s goals for 2025, to have at least 90% of children who leave foster care find a permanent home, and for those children to be reunified with parents or relatives at a higher rate than adoption or aging out.
Just a Queen with Goals Empowering Women Nonprofit – Community Resource Closet | $5,000
Just A Queen with Goals Empowering Women Nonprofit has served over 3,000 underserved youth and women in the DFW area, since it was founded in 2021. In January 2024, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation approved a grant toward their Community Resource Closet. This program serves over 300 families weekly, providing essential items like diapers, clothing, hygiene products, and food. By providing these items, the goal is for families to experience reduced financial strain, allowing them to allocate resources to other vital needs.
Since its creation, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation has awarded more than 500 grants totaling nearly $44 million to Arlington nonprofit organizations, City of Arlington departments and neighborhood groups for projects that help the public.
