Neighborhood Matching Grants

The City continues to invest in neighborhoods throughout The American Dream City, with the Arlington City Council approving $77,660 in new Neighborhood Matching Grants for four projects across the city.

The Neighborhood Matching Grant program was developed in 2007 to foster civic pride, enhance neighborhoods and encourage collaboration between residents and City government. The program aligns with the City Council priority to Champion Great Neighborhoods. The City has awarded $1,360,982 in grants to 138 projects since the program began.

For a project to be considered, it must be submitted by neighbors, serve a public purpose, have a detailed timeline and meet all City codes. Each neighborhood must also contribute 20% grant match towards the project through cash, in-kind donations and/or volunteer hours.

The projects selected to receive funding in 2024 were:

  • La Frontera Homeowners Association, Inc. - $20,060 for La Frontera playground improvement
  • Inniswood Owners Association, Inc. - $17,480 for California Lane fence replacement and landscaping
  • Clubview Addition (with the Arlington Sculpture Garden Foundation) - $25,000 for Meadowbrook Park Sculpture Garden addition
  • Cantor Park Condominiums Homeowners Association, Inc. - $15,120 for landscaping improvements

The next grant cycle will open in August 2024.
