Municipal Energy Usage

Texas Government Code § 2265.001(b) requires cities to publish the following information annually on their website:

  • “metered amount of electricity, water or natural gas consumed”; and
  • the “aggregate costs for those utility services”.

This report is consistent with the statutory direction to governmental entities to report the aggregate (combined) costs for electric, water and natural gas services.

The total cost of natural gas, electricity and water purchased by the City in the calendar year 2025 is $28,869,939.16

Natural Gas

The City of Arlington purchases natural gas from Atmos Energy. In Calendar Year 2025, the City purchased a total of 246,205 cubic feet (CCF) of natural gas.  

Electricity

The City purchases electricity from TXU Energy. In Calendar Year 2025, the City purchased a total of 70,950,852.20 kilowatt hours.

Water

The City purchases water from Tarrant Regional Water District. In Calendar Year 2025, the City purchased a total of 19,672,958,000 gallons of water.
