The Safe Route to School Project will improve pedestrian paths in the vicinity of Crow Leadership Academy, Thornton Elementary, and Webb Elementary for students walking to school. The City will be responsible for the design costs and any right-of-way costs. This project is funded by This project is funded by the Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) Program through the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

When is the contractor allowed to work?

The contractor is allowed to work from 7 AM to 6 PM (Central Standard Time) and from 7 AM to 8 PM (Central Daylight Time).

Will I still have water service during construction?

Yes, you will continue to have water service throughout construction. If there is a planned water shut-off, you will be notified at least 48 hours in advance. In the case of an emergency shut-off, water service may be temporarily interrupted for a few hours.

Will construction cause travel delays?

While the construction of the sidewalk is not expected to significantly impact traffic, there may be slight delays during specific phases of the project. We recommend staying alert for any signage and planning your route accordingly to ensure a smooth travel experience.

Will I have access to my driveway?

Driveway access will be available during most of the project. If the contractor must close or remove your driveway, you will be given 48-72 hour notice.

Will my trash be picked up during construction?

Yes. Your neighborhood's regularly scheduled trash and recycling pickup days will continue as normal during construction.
