Mysterious Tales for Children

On Thursday, October 29, 2015, nearly 50 patrons showed up to see Arlington Public Library's A Little Night of Mysteries program. The evening included three mysterious tales presented through the medium of performance.

Miss Shannon, Miss Bethany, and Miss Kayla recreated the classic poem The Spider and the Fly with a multi-media " silent film style" reader's theatre, followed by a doo-wop version of The Itsy Bitsy Spider.

Afterwards, a special edition of Tomie DePaola's Strega Nona was performed by members of Theatre Arlington. The actors enthralled the audience with their wonderful performances and encouraged audience members to be part of the story.

The evening of mysterious tales concluded with The Spooky Box by Mark Gonyea. As Miss Bethany read the book, children were surprised and delighted to see the story secretly "come to life" behind her.

The final activity of the evening was an opportunity for everyone to indulge their senses by exploring a table of mysterious scents and tactile objects.
