Neighborhood Matching Grants

The City of Arlington’s 2027 Neighborhood Matching Grant Program, celebrating its 20th anniversary, has $150,000 available for eligible community projects.

Is your neighborhood interested in adding landscaping, public art, sign toppers, park improvements or similar enhancements? The application period for Neighborhood Matching Grant funds opens Oct. 5, 2026, and closes Nov. 16, 2026.

2027 Matching Grant Application

The Neighborhood Matching Grant program, funded by a portion of the City’s gas well revenue since 2007, benefits Arlington by making neighborhoods more attractive, raising the level of community pride, increasing civic participation by residents, and encouraging collaboration and formal organization of and among neighbors, neighborhoods and city government.

Interested in applying?

Any neighborhood group with an IRS EIN and bank account can apply for a grant up to $10,000 and any neighborhood registered as an HOA or nonprofit with the State of Texas can apply for a grant up to $25,000 for an eligible project. Other requirements include:

  • For a project to be considered, it must be submitted by neighbors, serve a public purpose, have a detailed budget and timeline, and meet all City codes.
  • Each neighborhood must also contribute a 20% grant match towards the project, with at least half of that match being cash. In some cases, the cash match may be waived.
  • Neighborhoods applying for a grant must join the City’s Neighborhood Directory.
  • Neighborhoods that have received $50,000 in Neighborhood Matching Grant awards since 2007 are no longer eligible for new grant funding.

Information Sessions

To apply, a project team representative must attend one of the six Information Sessions, or view a recorded presentation, scheduled between Oct. 5 and Oct. 20, 2026. The following sessions are scheduled:

  • 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2026: Northeast Branch Library, 1905 Brown Blvd.
  • 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026: Woodland West Library, 2837 W. Park Row Drive
  • 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026: East Library & Recreation Center, 1817 New York Ave.
  • 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2026: Southeast Branch Library, 900 SE Green Oaks Blvd.
  • 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026: Southwest Library, 3311 Southwest Green Oaks Blvd.
  • Accessible anytime - Virtual recorded information session: An additional required application workshop will be held to provide potential applicants with specialized training for completing the Neighborhood Matching Grant application.
  • 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2026: George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S. Center St.
