As the weather cools off, there’s nothing better than a visit to the park on a crisp autumn day! Mark your calendar for these upcoming October events with Arlington Parks, Recreation & Culture.
Aging Well Expo – Wednesday, October 7
Arlington's annual Aging Well Expo is back to bring you practical tips and resources to help you thrive and age well! This exciting in-person event for adults 21+ will feature free health screenings, expert advice from local healthcare professionals, engaging fitness, and entertainment to inspire active living. This year’s expo will be held at Esports Stadium Arlington & Expo Center from 9 AM – 2 PM. Membership is NOT required to attend this free event. Free parking and assistance to the front door is available.
Phantom Lights – Saturday, October 17
Calling all ghouls and goblins to join us for a spooktacular evening at Cliff Nelson's Phantom Lights from 6-8 PM! Decorate your lantern, watch it float on the pond, and enjoy a dance party and costume contest under the stars! Lanterns are available for $10 on a first come, first serve basis. Event is free to attend. Pre-register to secure your paper lantern. Family friendly costumes are encouraged!

Trail or Treat – Friday, October 23
Put on your costumes and join us for the annual Trail or Treat event at Bob Cooke Park! Families are invited to enjoy a safe and festive trick-or-treat experience along the decorated trail filled with fun, candy, and Halloween spirit from 6-8 PM. It's a perfect way to celebrate the fall season together! This event is free to attend and open to all ages. No registration required.
Family Fun Campout – Saturday, October 24 – Sunday, October 25
Pitch your tents, spark up those lanterns, and get ready for a night bursting with creativity, laughter, and cozy autumn vibes at Dottie Lynn’s Family Fun Campout! Show off your style in the tent decorating challenge, dive into silly and spirited games, and roast the perfect s'more with the whole family.

Harvest Splash – Friday, October 30
East Indoor Pool will be hosting their fourth annual floating pumpkin patch beginning at 6 PM! Find your perfect pumpkin, decorate it in the Party Room, and take photos with it at the photo booth. You won't want to miss this awesome autumnal event! All participants must register. An adult must be in the water with all non-swimmers, 3-5 year-olds, and individuals wearing lifejackets.

Monster Mash (50+ yrs) – Friday, October 30
Put on your favorite costume and join us at East Recreation Center for a frightfully fun afternoon at our Monster Mash Dance Party from 12-2 PM! Enjoy music, dancing, games, festive refreshments, and a costume contest with prizes. Whether you come dressed to impress or just ready to dance, this Halloween celebration is sure to be a spooktacular time for all!
