Arlington residents once again showed their commitment to keeping the community clean and green, collecting and responsibly disposing of more than 68,000 pounds of waste during the City of Arlington’s free Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding event on Oct. 31, 2026.

A total of 1,003 residents participated in the event, helping make a significant environmental impact.

Together, participants:

  • Shredded 22,520 pounds of paper, or more than 11 tons of sensitive documents.
  • Recycled 46,088 pounds of electronics, or more than 23 tons of electronic waste that might otherwise have ended up in landfills.

In all, residents helped recycle or securely shred 68,608 pounds of material.

The City thanks everyone who participated and helped make the event a success. Community participation in these events helps reduce landfill waste and supports Arlington’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Missed the October event? The City's next free electronics recycling and paper shredding event is planned for April 2027.
