May 2026 Student-Athlete of the Month: Akach'e Buie

Akach’e Buie, a senior on Seguin High School’s track and field team, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for May 2026.

Since her freshman year, Buie has been a driving force on Seguin’s varsity track team, making it as a Regional Finalist honors in every season of her high school career.

"We try to be champions of life, not just in athletics," Renwick Ridgeway, Seguin High School Head Girl’s Track Coach said. "Akach’e has demonstrated that over these last four years."

Buie, whose favorite subject is English, will attend Louisiana State University where she will study kinesiology.
