AI Tools for Small Businesses

Small business owners can get a hands-on look at the future of marketing on Thursday, May 7 from 3–4 p.m. at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. Led by local growth strategist Ramesh Ghimire, this practical workshop explores how AI can streamline content creation, boost online visibility, manage reputation, and help businesses connect with customers more effectively. With no experience required, attendees will walk away with ready-to-use tools they can apply the same day.

First Thursdays in Downtown Arlington

First Thursdays returns on Thursday, May 7 from 5–8 p.m. throughout Downtown Arlington. This monthly event transforms downtown into a lively, walkable experience filled with live music, art, and interactive activities for all ages.

Featured attractions include The Little Art Bus Mobile Art Studio, where visitors can hop aboard for hands-on creativity; The Art of Letterpress with 4 Acre Press at Rotary Dream Park, offering a chance to create custom printed postcards; and a high-energy Interactive Community Drum Circle, where guests can join in and make music together. At City Center Plaza, the UTA Fine & Performing Arts Takeover brings live music, dance, art-making, and performances from Hair, creating a vibrant showcase of local talent.

Nature Night

Spend an evening under the stars at Nature Night on Friday, May 8 from 6–8 p.m. at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center. This free, all-ages event celebrates the outdoors with activities like fishing, nature crafts, and a Star Party hosted by the Fort Worth Astronomical Society. There will be interactive booths from local organizations, hands-on water activities, yard games, and even Kona Ice on site, it’s a fun and relaxed way to connect with nature and the community.

Concerts at Levitt Pavilion

Concerts at Levitt Pavilion return on May 8–9 from 7:10–10 p.m. at Levitt Pavilion Arlington, bringing another weekend of free live music to downtown. Friday, May 8 features the Levitt Youth Spotlight at 7:10 p.m., followed by Marina Rocks at 7:30 p.m. and headliner Monte Montgomery at 8:30 p.m., known for his high-energy guitar work and Texas roots sound. Saturday, May 9 kicks off again with the Levitt Youth Spotlight at 7:10 p.m., followed by Los Músicos at 7:30 p.m. and legendary Tejano group La Fiebre closing the night at 8:30 p.m. With a mix of rock, country, and Tejano music, it’s another great weekend to grab a lawn chair, enjoy the fresh air, and experience the vibrant energy of Arlington’s live music scene.

Salute to Community Bands

A full day of music takes center stage on Saturday, May 9 from 1–8 p.m. at the UTA Music Building during the annual Salute to Community Bands. This free event brings together community bands from across the Dallas–Fort Worth area for a continuous lineup of performances, showcasing a wide range of musical styles and local talent.
