Arlington’s own Division Brewing has joined in the City’s 150th anniversary festivities by brewing a limited-edition craft beer for the occasion. Opened in 2015, Division Brewing grew from a friendship between two home brewers and Arlington residents, Wade Wadlington and Sean Cooley.
Wadlington explained that they wanted their brewery to be somewhere that friends and neighbors could visit without traveling to Dallas or Fort Worth.
“We were seeking to create a place that was unique and a provided a wide range of beer styles, especially IPAs and fruited sour beers,” said owner Wade Wadlington.
Arlington 150, a Belgian Wit style (think “Blue Moon”), has a light floral nose with faint underpinnings of citrus, he said.
“The goal of the beer was to provide something easy drinking and approachable.”
Beer lovers and Arlington lovers can attend the official release at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 at Division Brewing, where the beer will be available in cans and on draught. Guests can enjoy the first public tapping, live entertainment and food as they celebrate the community’s history, creativity and local flavor.
“We’re so appreciative that the City of Arlington engaged a really small business and had us be a part of this project.”
Division Brewing is located at 506 E. Main St. in Downtown Arlington.
