Road in disrepair

Construction will soon begin on a $4.3 million project that will reconstruct Daniel Drive from Carla Avenue to Cloudcroft Drive in East Arlington, and residents are invited to a public meeting to learn more about the project.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, at the East Library and Recreation Center, 1817 New York Avenue, Arlington, TX 76010. The meeting will include a brief presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an overview of the project, outline anticipated construction activities, and address questions regarding the project and its benefits to the Arlington community.

The project will begin in June 2026 and is anticipated to be completed by June 2027. Funding for this project was approved by voters as part of the 2023 Bond Election.

 Planned improvements include:

  • Reconstruction of Daniel Drive as a concrete roadway with new sidewalks and ADA-compliant features
  • Installation of new street lighting
  • Reconstruction of driveway approaches
  • Water and sanitary sewer system upgrades
  • Drainage improvements
  • Construction of a miniature roundabout at Daniel Drive and East Timberview Lane
