Arlington Museum of Art's 'More Than a Match' Extended Through Aug. 30

Great news, soccer fans: the Arlington Museum of Art's "More Than a Match: 4 Exhibitions, 1 Ultimate Fan Experience" will be around for a while longer!
Originally scheduled to close Aug. 3, all four exhibitions will now remain on view through Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, giving fans nearly four additional weeks to experience the celebration of soccer that has captivated visitors all summer long.
Launched in celebration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup games hosted at AT&T Stadium, "More Than a Match" has drawn soccer fans, art lovers, and visitors from around the world to the heart of Arlington's Entertainment District. The response has been so enthusiastic that the museum is extending the entire experience.
"When we opened "More Than a Match," we hoped it would capture the passion of soccer both on and off the field, and our visitors have shown us just how deeply that passion runs," said President and CEO Chris Hightower. "Extending these exhibitions through August 30 is our way of saying thank you to this community and to the fans from around the globe who made this summer unforgettable. If you have not experienced it yet, now is your final chance."
The extension applies to all four exhibitions:
Soccer: The Passion for the World Cup is an internationally collaborative exhibition making its exclusive North American appearance in Arlington, TX. Featuring unique, original items from the Museo del Calcio Internazionale in Rome and Contemporanea Progetti in Florence, the exhibition retraces the evolution of the world's most popular sport, from its ancient origins to the modern World Cup, through legendary uniforms, original posters, photographs, and immersive installations.
Art of the Game is a curated art exhibition featuring 29 works by nearly 16 artists from around the world, including Andy Warhol, Kehinde Wiley, and Hank Willis Thomas, with selected works from the National Football Museum Collection. Spanning painting, photography, sculpture, and hanging installation, the exhibition explores identity, spectacle, and the global cultural significance of soccer.
Atlas of Champions: Historic Maps of the Arlington Games, organized by the University of Texas at Arlington's Special Collections and curated by Evan Spencer, showcases 13 historic maps created over three centuries, representing each nation playing World Cup matches in Arlington.
Fabrics of Fanatics, presented in partnership with the National Soccer Hall of Fame, is a collaborative community installation featuring hundreds of match-day scarves contributed by local fans, celebrating the artistry and tradition of one of soccer's most beloved rituals.
The final day to view "More Than a Match" is Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026. Tickets can be purchased at ArlingtonMuseum.org. All exhibitions within More Than a Match are suitable for all ages.
