This project is estimated to be completed in September 2026, and includes the following improvements:

  • Storm drain installation
  • Sanitary sewer installation and maintenance
  • Limited water line relocations
  • Limited asphalt paving
  • Concrete driveway paving at some location.

This project is part of the City’s efforts to improve drainage infrastructure in Arlington neighborhoods and aligns with the City Council priority to Strengthen Our Communities.

The existing drainage system for this location is inadequate and has caused some home flooding. Additionally, the outfall to Lake Arlington is failing and needs to be abandoned and rerouted to a new location. The proposed improvements will help capture more stormwaters runoff within the City’s right-of-way, decrease flooding of risk for homes in the area and replace the current aging drainage system.

Help us keep Arlington clean

The City of Arlington’s stormwater infrastructure consists of approximately 13,000 inlets, 625 miles of pipes and culverts, 190 bridges and 95 miles of improved channels.

Yard waste, litter, and other debris dumped into streets, inlets, storm drains, or creeks can cause flooding. The City spends over $1.2 million annually to clean up debris and litter from streets and stormwater infrastructure. Report illegal dumping at 817-459-6777 or use the Ask Arlington App.
