Free Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event April 11, 2026

The City of Arlington will hold a free paper shredding and electronics recycling event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, on the southeast corner of Mitchell Street and Cooper Street (UTA parking). Vehicles will enter the parking lot from Doug Russell Road on the southern end of the UTA parking lot. Proof of Arlington residency will be required to participate. No trailers will be allowed. 

Paper shredding is limited to two boxes (like the size of a cardboard bankers box) per vehicle and will end when the truck is full. Papers will be shredded onsite.

Electronics accepted for recycling include:

  • Televisions (flat screens and cathode ray tube or CRT)
  • Computers/laptops and computer components
  • Office equipment
  • Stereo equipment
  • Learning consoles
  • Cameras
  • Cellphones/tablets
  • Small corded appliances
  • Microwaves
  • Audio and video equipment
  • Batteries and Backups

Electronic not accepted:

  • Large household appliances such as washers and dryers or appliances containing Freon, such as refrigerators, freezers, wine coolers and air conditioners, will not be accepted. For disposal of large items, please contact Republic Services at (817) 317-2000.
