The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a moped that occurred near the intersection of Carter Dr. and Sunflower Dr.
On Thursday, March 12, 2026, at approximately 8:36 a.m., officers responded to the intersection after receiving reports of a person struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they located a 23-year-old woman trapped underneath a vehicle.
Investigators determined the woman was traveling northbound along Carter Dr. on a 2026 Yamaha Vino Moped, when the driver of a 2014 Nissan Sentra attempting to turn from an alleyway onto Carter Dr., pulled out in front of her. The woman attempted to lay the moped on its side to avoid colliding with the Sentra but fell to the ground and was run over.
The moped operator was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Nissan Sentra remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. At this time, no criminal charges have been filed.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
