The City of Arlington is excited to introduce our new Business Welcome Kit program for local Arlington eateries.
Thanks to a grant from the National Environmental Health Association, the City’s Planning & Development Services Department is providing new food service businesses in Arlington with a Welcome Kit as they pass their initial health inspection.
City health inspectors started handing out the kits in June. Teah Brooks, the owner of Sweet Tea’s Bakery and Tea House on S. Cooper, was one of the first business owners to receive the kit.
“I’m very thankful to my health inspector, Steven,” Teah said. “It does make a big difference having someone who is in your corner, even though they’re helping you in a safety aspect, they also want to see you win, and I’m grateful for that. Plus, for the little things that make a bigger impact than you might think.”
The kits include a few tools businesses will need to be successful, including basic food safety materials such as test strips, thermometers, and single use gloves. The Welcome Kits even include a frame to display their City of Arlington Health Permit.
