Arlington PD Homicide Unit Recognized at State Capitol

The Arlington Police Department Homicide Unit was recently recognized at the State Capitol for their outstanding efforts to solve homicide cases.

Eight current and former members of the unit were presented with the State of Texas Law Enforcement Achievement Award for Public Service during a ceremony in Austin on Friday, June 26:

• Lieutenant Blake Ritchie
• Detective Allison Allen 
• Detective Tracey Dixon
• Detective Julie Evans
• Detective Krystallyne Robinson
• Detective Andrew VanTreeck
• Officer Devon Coffer
• Officer Anthony Stafford

In 2025, the APD Homicide Unit achieved a 100 percent clearance rate on all 14 homicide cases that occurred that year. They also solved 12 cold cases.

Their efforts were further strengthened by the creation of an innovative partnership between APD and the University of Texas at Arlington that gives students interested in law enforcement careers the opportunity to review cold cases and collaborate with detectives on new investigative leads.

"Not only does the Homicide Unit continue to solve cases at a significantly higher rate than the national average, they have embraced new technologies and partnerships that have helped solved cold cases and deliver justice to families," said Chief of Police Al Jones. "I'm extremely proud of the work these men and women do. This is a well deserved recognition."

Each of the honorees received a medal and certificate signed by Governor Greg Abbott.
