Arlington Invites Community to Celebrate City’s 150th Birthday

Arlington invites the community to mark the city’s 150th birthday during a pop‑up celebration set for 1 p.m. July 16, 2026, at City Hall, 101 W. Abram Street. Attendees can enjoy birthday cake and sign the city’s official birthday card.

Although Arlington’s actual anniversary is July 19, officials chose to hold the event a few days early to give more residents the chance to participate. The gathering will also feature Arlington 150th branded giveaways.

The event is free and open to the public. Free parking is offered in the lot west of City Hall between S. Oak Street and S. Pecan Street and in the lot off Front Street situated between Mellow Mushroom and the railroad tracks.

City leaders say they are excited to welcome the community to celebrate the milestone and reflect on Arlington’s history and growth over the past 150 years.
