January 2026 Student-Athlete of the Month: Isaac Salas

Isaac Salas, a senior on Martin High School’s soccer team, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for January 2026.

A forward for the Warriors, Salas has left his mark all over the field.

“He’s changed his position this year from left back to midfield to forward,” said Joey Lockhart, Martin High School Head Soccer Coach. “He’s effective all over the place because he’s thinking about how the game changes.”

When in the classroom, Salas’ favorite subject is Environmental Science, but outside of the classroom, he says the soccer pitch teaches him life lessons.

“Overall the mentality that the sport has given me, even after a poor performance, I can be able to get right back up and learn from it and keep going,” said Salas.
