The City continues to invest in neighborhoods throughout The American Dream City, with the Arlington City Council approving $63,670 in new Neighborhood Matching Grants for four projects across the city.
The Neighborhood Matching Grant program was developed in 2007 to foster civic pride, enhance neighborhoods and encourage collaboration between residents and City government. The program aligns with the City Council priority of Strengthening Our Communities. The City has awarded more than $1.4 million in grants to 146 projects since the program began.
For a project to be considered, it must be submitted by neighbors, serve a public purpose, have a detailed timeline and meet all City codes. Each neighborhood must also contribute 20% grant match towards the project through cash, in-kind donations and/or volunteer hours.
