All Arlington Public Library locations and recreation centers will open at normal business hours and will continue serving as warming centers for residents in need on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

However, many other City of Arlington facilities will have a delayed opening until noon to allow time for icy road conditions to improve as temperatures climb above freezing.  These locations are: City Hall, City Tower, the Municipal Court, Arlington Animal Services and Water Utilities South Service Center.

Other City Service Updates

Brush/Bulky Waste and Recycling Collection Suspended

Due to the ongoing sub-freezing temperatures, there have been changes to the waste and recycling collection schedules.  To ensure all households get their trash carts emptied, Republic Services has suspended the collection of all recycling and brush/bulky waste for this week. Trash carts will be collected. Please note, that all trash must be placed inside the cart to be collected.

We recognize the impact these changes will have on residents, and we appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation as we work through this temporary challenge and remain committed to resuming normal service on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026.

Monday Collection:

No recycling or brush/bulky item collection.

Monday trash collection will occur on Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure your trash cart(s) are at the curb by 7 am on Wednesday. If your trash cart has not been emptied by Friday morning, please report missed collections to Republic Services at 817-317-2000.
