The Arlington Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 14-year-old boy.
On Friday, February 20, 2026, at approximately 10:31 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 4600 block of Sausalito Drive to investigate a reported shooting. When they arrived on scene, they located the victim unresponsive in a bedroom. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators determined the victim and multiple friends were in possession of a gun and were reportedly playing with it just prior to the shooting.
Based on the investigation, one of the individuals who was in the room with the victim, a teenage boy, was arrested and charged with one count of Manslaughter. Because he is a juvenile, we are unable to release his name. He was transported to the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.
