February 2026 Student-Athlete of the Month: Adaugo Onyekwere

Adaugo Onyekwere, a senior on Lamar High School’s wrestling team, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for February 2026.

Onyekwere, who's ranked in the top three percent of her class, has made it to Regionals in wrestling all four years of high school and broke through her senior year, competing at the state tournament. 

"One of the biggest takeaways in wrestling was feeling confident," Onyekwere said. "No matter how big or small you are or how great you are wrestling. It's just you, yourself on the mat and you're putting everything that you got out there."

Onyekwere has already received an Associate degree while at Lamar and plans on studying to become a Pediatrician after graduation.
