Love is in the air in Arlington! And this Valentine’s season, it’s also baked right into the menu at The Roll & Berry.
For the latest segment of “Arlington Eats,” host Cynthia Lemus stopped by the newly opened coffee shop. The Roll & Berry has been serving the Arlington community for just one month after years of building a following at farmers markets across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
One of the shop’s featured Valentine’s items is its limited-time heart-shaped cinnamon roll — sweet, festive and made to share.
But for owner Valery Hernandez, the cinnamon roll represents more than just a seasonal treat.
“My mom, she’s great. Everything that she cooks is super delicious. She inspired me,” Hernandez said. “I remember tasting all the things she was baking when I was growing up. For me and my kids, I want to do the same — create memories they’ll remember.”
That family inspiration is reflected throughout the menu, which blends Mexican flavors with breakfast and coffee favorites. Guests can enjoy mini pancakes, milkshakes and specialty coffee drinks, along with a variety of savory and sweet options.
For Hernandez, opening The Roll & Berry was about more than starting a business; it was about building something meaningful for her family and the community.
“The idea of having my own business was to have something for my family, to start something we can share with the community, some flavor from our kitchen, from our Mexico,” she said.
Not in the mood for something sweet? Roll & Berry is also offering a bold Valentine’s twist with its pink chilaquiles, topped with a habanero pink sauce.
“We have the pink chilaquiles. It’s basically a habanero pink sauce. And it’s delicious,” Hernandez said.
From pop-up markets to a brick-and-mortar location in Arlington, the family-owned shop reflects the city’s growing small-business community.
“We really put effort into having quality products. The taste is very important for us. Arlington is growing a lot, and the nicest people are here,” she said.
The Roll & Berry is located at 2131 N. Collins St., Apt. 421, Arlington. Follow The Roll & Berry on Instagram and Facebook for seasonal specials and new menu updates.
