With the weather warming up and the school year winding down, we’ve got fun activities planned for all ages! Mark your calendar for these upcoming May events with Arlington Parks, Recreation & Culture.

Bass Classic - Saturday, May 2

Show off your angler skills at the 12th Annual Bass Classic at Lake Arlington. This event starts at 6:30 AM and is perfect for all ages, however kids ages 17 and under must have a parent/guardian authorization on registration form. A current 2026 boat permit is required.

Supper Club - Monday, May 4 

Whether it’s date night, family night or just because, please join us for Supper Club at Home Plate Restaurant & Patio inside Texas Rangers Golf Club. You can treat yourself to a delicious three-course meal on every first Monday night of the month for just $20 per person. Supper Club, which includes a starter, entrée, and dessert, is available from 6 PM to close at 9 PM. For more info and reservations, please call (817) 575-8299.

Mother’s Day Tea (50+) - Thursday, May 7

Celebrate the special women in our lives with tea, treats, and friendship at ACTIV from 2-4 PM. We’ll have relaxing hand massages provided by cosmetology students.

Tents & Tales - Friday, May 8 to Saturday, May 9

Join us for a night under the stars as we camp out at River Legacy Park. Make sure to pack your tents and sleeping bags as we set out for wilderness right here in the city! The night will include dinner, a movie under the stars, sleeping bag story time and a good old fashion camping sing along. The movie we will be watching is Lilo & Stitch (2025). We will also have vendors Kona Ice, Ann's Natural Grocery & Nutrition, and Twisted Citrus onsite as well.

Mother’s Day Brunch – Sunday, May 10

Celebrate Mom in style at Ventana Grille! Join us at Tierra Verde Golf Club for a special Mother's Day meal on Sunday, May 10th from 10AM–2PM. Spoil the woman who deserves it most with a delicious meal and beautiful golf course views. Reservations are encouraged — call 817-548-5047 to RSVP.

 

Chippin’, Dippin’, & Margarita Sippin’ (50+) – Wednesday, May 13

Join us from 5-7 PM for a festive afternoon at ACTIV filled with fun! Enjoy chips, dip, refreshing margaritas, and much more! Limit 2 margaritas per person

Ice Cream Social (50+) – Friday, May 15

Cool off with delicious ice cream, tropical toppings, and good vibes at East Library & Recreation Center. We’ll bring the summer fun with tunes, lots of smiles, and plenty of chances to mingle. No sunscreen required – just come ready to chill and enjoy a sweet treat from 12 to 1 PM. Must be 50+ member.

Summer Camp Open House (CNRC) – Monday, May 18

Join us for an evening to get to know summer camp staff, tour Cliff Nelson Recreation Center, and ask questions about the program. We’ll be here from 6-8 PM to help answer any question you have. No registration required.

Spring Country Dance – Tuesday, May 19

Dust off your boots and swing into spring with an evening of fun country music at ACTIV from 5-7 PM. We’ll have line dancing and plenty of two-steppin’ fun!

Meadow’s Museum at SMU Dallas – Thursday, May 28

The Meadows Museum at SMU houses one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of Spanish art outside of Spain. With works dating from the 10th to the 21st centuries, the internationally renowned collection presents a broad spectrum of art covering a thousand years of Spanish heritage. Accessible transportation with a wheelchair lift is not currently available; please contact us in advance so we can arrange reasonable accommodation for mobility or equipment transportation needs. We’ll leave ACTIV at 10 AM and return around 3 PM.

Day Camp Open House (East) – Thursday, May 28

Campers and parents join us for our Summer Camp Open House from 10 AM – 12:30 PM at East Library & Recreation Center! We'll help fill out camp forms, mingle with our new counselors, and have bilingual staff onsite to answer any questions you may have. Get a glimpse of all the fun to come with snacks and games.
