The Public Works Engineering Operation Division is pleased to announce the construction of the Mansfield Webb Road (Silo Road to South Collins Street) Project, which is scheduled to begin in April 2026.
This project in southeast Arlington is estimated to be completed in July 2027, and includes the following improvements:
- Widening Mansfield Webb Road to a 4-lane undivided concrete roadway
- Streetlights, landscaping, and sidewalks
- Water and sanitary sewer adjustments
- Drainage system improvements
- New traffic signal at Webb Ferrell Road
This project aligns with the City Council Priority to Enhance Mobility and is part of the City’s efforts to improve roadways in Arlington for residents and visitors.
This construction contract for the Mansfield Webb Road (Silo Road to South Collins Street) project involves the reconstruction and widening of Mansfield Webb Road from Silo Road to South Collins Street, expanding the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway. Funding for this project was included in the voter-approved 2018 Bond Election.
Planned improvements include installing sidewalks, water main and sanitary sewer improvements. The project also includes storm drain, street lighting, and fiber communication conduits. Undersized roadway culverts, ditches, and channels will be replaced to improve drainage and reduce long-term maintenance. New traffic signals will be installed at the Mansfield Webb Road and Webb Ferrell Road intersection, along with internally illuminated street name signs at Silo Road, Webb Ferrell Road, and South Collins Street. Select areas will also receive landscaping for visual beautification.
The Arlington City Council approved a construction contract with McMahon Contracting & Construction, LLC of Grand Prairie in November 2025. The contract includes a maximum bonus of $112,500 if the project is completed in less than 450 calendar days, for a possible total contract amount of around $13 million.
