September 2025 Student-Athlete of the Month: Keitlen Alvarez

Keitlen Alvarez, a junior on Bowie High School’s cross country and soccer teams, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for September 2025.

A captain on the Lady Vols soccer, Alvarez was approached by her coach to start running cross country.

“I realized early on that she had talent,” said Doris Grooms, Bowie High School Head Girls Cross Country Coach. “I think she’s a student of the sport. Whatever sport it is, she wants to be the best.”

“I have actually started to fall in love with cross country,” Alvarez said. “I think it’s something that pushes me every day to do better.”
