National Medal of Honor Museum Hosting Free Teacher Days This Fall
Published on September 10, 2025
Twice this fall, the National Medal of Honor Museum will host “Free Teacher Days,” opening its doors for all educators to explore powerful exhibits that honor our nation’s heroes and discover how we all have the potential to be extraordinary. On September 13 and November 1, any adult with a school employee ID – including teachers, administrators, classroom aides, and substitute teachers – can secure free admission and participate in special programming from the Museum’s education team. Free Teacher Days are made possible by the Texas Lottery®.
“Through our Free Teacher Days, we are striving to provide educators with resources to foster character education in the classroom. The stories and values of the Medal of Honor are more than history lessons – they are moments of self-discovery, opportunities to reflect on choices, and invitations to put timeless values into action,” said Chris Cassidy, President and CEO of the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation.
Free Teacher Days are designed specifically for educators to:
- Inspire your teaching, fuel your creativity, and discover fresh ways to ignite curiosity in your students
- Experience the Museum before your students do – see it through their eyes first
- Gain exclusive access to classroom-ready resources made for educators
- Connect with our Education Team and other passionate teachers
- Discover new ideas to make your lessons more engaging and unforgettable

The National Medal of Honor Museum, Monument and Griffin Institute is inspiring individuals by honoring and preserving the history of the highest military decoration awarded for valor in combat.
The Museum, which opened on March 25, 2025, serves as a national landmark located in America’s heartland in Arlington, Texas, and provides an unrivaled, interactive visitor experience that commemorates the historical thread of sacrifice, patriotism, and courage that connects members of the United States military service past and present. It is the Museum’s mission to tell the stories of Medal of Honor recipients in a dynamic and interactive setting that will inspire visitors to recognize the potential for the extraordinary that resides in us all.
Through dynamic and far-reaching curriculum and programming, the National Medal of Honor Griffin Institute is bringing to life the core values inherent to the Medal of Honor in classrooms, boardrooms, and communities around the country.
In 2021, The National Medal of Honor Monument Act was signed into law, paving the way for the monument’s placement in Washington, D.C.
