As the weather cools off, there’s nothing better than a visit to the park on a crisp autumn day! Mark your calendar for these upcoming October events with Arlington Parks and Recreation.

Phantom Lights – Saturday, October 11

Calling all ghouls and goblins to join us for a spooktacular evening at Cliff Nelson's Phantom Lights from 6-8 PM! Floating lanterns will be available for purchase while supplies last at $10 per lantern. Decorate your lantern before our group launch on the pond at 7:30 PM and enjoy live music, games, bounce house, vendors and more. This event is free and open to all ages. Sensory-friendly launch will take place from 5:30-6:00 PM. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged!

Aging Well Expo – Tuesday, October 14

Arlington's annual Aging Well Expo is back to bring you practical tips and resources to help you thrive and age well! This exciting in-person event for adults 21+ will feature free health screenings, expert advice from local healthcare professionals, engaging fitness, and entertainment to inspire active living. This year’s expo will be held at Esports Stadium Arlington & Expo Center from 9 AM – 2 PM. Membership is NOT required to attend this free event. Free parking and assistance to the front door is available.

Harvest Splash – Friday, October 17

East Indoor Pool will be hosting their third annual floating pumpkin patch from 6-8 PM! Find your perfect pumpkin, decorate it in the Party Room, and take photos with it at the photo booth. You won't want to miss this awesome autumnal event! All participants must register. An adult must be in the water with all non-swimmers, 3-5 year-olds, and individuals wearing lifejackets.

Trail-or-Treat – Friday, October 24

Put on your costumes and join us for the annual Trail or Treat event at Bob Cooke Park! Families are invited to enjoy a safe and festive trick-or-treat experience along the decorated trail filled with fun, candy, and Halloween spirit from 5-8 PM. It's a perfect way to celebrate the fall season together! This event is free to attend and open to all ages. No registration required.

Spooktacular Sock Hop (50+ yrs) – Tuesday, October 28

Put on your poodle skirts and spooky best for a frightfully fun afternoon of dancing from 5-7 PM! ACTIV’s Halloween-themed sock hop will feature classic tunes, costume contests, and nostalgic fun for all. Get ready to twist, shout, and boogie the night away with DJ Gurrl — if you dare!
