The National Medal of Honor Museum will honor America’s veterans with family-friendly activities all day on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11th. The Museum will extend its hours as it becomes a gathering place for the Texas Veterans Day Parade and nighttime drone show. All veterans will receive free admission to the Museum, with active-duty military members always welcomed at no charge.

“Freedom isn’t free, and Veterans Day reminds us of that truth every year,” said Chris Cassidy, NMOHMF President and CEO. “It is an honor to open our doors to the community and provide a place where Americans can come together to reflect, give thanks and pay tribute to those who’ve served.”

Morning activities include a book signing featuring Medal of Honor Recipient Florent “Flo” Groberg, where guests can meet Flo and purchase signed copies of his book, as well as an opportunity to write personal notes of thanks to veterans. In addition, WBAP’s “The Casey Bartholomew Show” and “The James Parker Show” will broadcast live from the Museum throughout the day. The public is encouraged to visit at any time and enjoy the Museum as a place of celebration.

The Texas Veterans Day Parade is scheduled to begin at approximately 5 p.m. and will immediately by followed by the drone show, which will be visible from the Museum grounds. Veterans, active-duty military and Museum members will have access to VIP seating. While last entry to the Museum’s exhibit deck is at 5 p.m., the first floor of the Museum will remain open through the show.

Members of the public do not need to register to attend any events. Choctaw Stadium concessions and restrooms will be available for all guests. This is an outdoor, open-ground event. A timeline for the events happening throughout the day can be found below.
