Here are a few ways you can enjoy your weekend in The American Dream City.
Arlington Pools & Splash Pads Open Memorial Day Weekend 2025
Get ready for some fun in the sun! The City of Arlington’s Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center, Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center and its three free outdoor splash pads open on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-May 26, 2025. The City’s Allen Bolden Outdoor Pool will open for the season on Saturday, May 31 and the Woodland West and Howard Moore pools will open for the season Sunday, June 1. The family aquatic centers, and the outdoor splash pads remain open through Labor Day weekend in early September, while the smaller outdoor pools will close in August. Celebrate Memorial Day by Placing Flags on Medal of Honor Museum Lawn
Courage and sacrifice will be commemorated at the National Medal of Honor Museum over Memorial Day weekend. As a memorial tribute, the Museum’s lawn will be adorned with a sea of American flags, each representing heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. Visitors are invited to place flags in remembrance, creating a powerful display of unity and gratitude. This uplifting experience will offer a chance to reflect, remember, and pay tribute in a meaningful way.
The NMOHMF is proud to offer discounted admission for Texas veterans and free admission to Texas active-duty military through the generous support of the Texas Lottery. To redeem discounted or free admission, present a valid military ID at Guest Services at the Museum. Additionally, we’re pleased to extend these discounts to veterans and all active-duty military nationwide as a gesture of appreciation. We’re also delighted to offer a discount on our Inspiration membership to show gratitude for their service.
Arlington residents can also receive 50% off their tickets by entering promo code LOCAL25 in the promotions tab of the online ticket store through July 4, 2025. The billing zip code on the payment method must be in Arlington, TX, otherwise the transaction will be declined. Arlington residents may also show a valid ID with their Arlington zip code at the Museum.
Six Flags Military Appreciation Days
Join Six Flags Over Texas as they say thank you to U.S. military members and veterans this Memorial Day Weekend. All active and retired members, including National Guard, reserves, and veterans, will receive free admission valid from May 23 through May 26, 2025. DreamFest 2025 Returns For Memorial Day Weekend With Free Concerts

M.C. Escher: Infinite Variations at the Arlington Museum of Art
The Arlington Museum of Art is bringing the mind-bending work of M.C. Escher to Arlington for its summer exhibition through Sunday, August 3, 2025. With over 150 works spanning the career of the graphic designer, M.C. Escher: Infinite Variations explores the metamorphic work of one of the most famous printmakers in modern times. Macabre Eternal at Heavy Metal Hall of Fame
Metal fans - catch Macabre Eternal and Negative Resistance on Saturday, May 24 at the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame, 120A E. Abram St. in Downtown Arlington. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. General admission is $17.50. Link to tickets on Heavy Metal Hall of Fame Facebook page.
The Smurf Experience
This 13,000-square-foot, fully immersive attraction will transport families into the heart of Smurf Village. The experience will be held at the Arlington Museum of Art. The 75-minute experience will feature nine mission-based zones filled with interactive scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, virtual reality adventures, meet-and-greets with beloved Smurf characters and more. It's hands-on, high-energy and full of Smurftastic fun for kids and parents alike. The Smurf Experience is not to be missed and is only in Texas until the end of the Summer. Big 12 Baseball Championship
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship returns to Globe Life Field for its fourth straight year Wednesday, May 21 through Saturday May 24, 2025. The 2025 Championship, which features an increase to 12 teams, will be played in a single-elimination format for the first time. Learn more about ticket information.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
It is the last weekend to catch The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, a play by Simon Stephens, at Theatre Arlington. 15-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain: He is exceptional at mathematics but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. Now it is 7 minutes after midnight, and Christopher stands beside his neighbor’s dead dog, Wellington, who has been speared with a garden fork. Finding himself under suspicion, Christopher is determined to solve the mystery, but his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world. The Downtown Arlington Farmers Market runs every Saturday through November from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Front and Center Streets. The market will feature fresh, locally-source produce, unique artisan goods and community connection.
Silent Book Club
The book club with no assigned reading and no pressure! They meet once a month at local spots around Arlington & Grand Prairie to read, drink, and be in community with other bookworms. Crochet for Beginners Ages 9+
Jump into the hobby of crochet! Staff at the Arlington Public Library will teach you about hooks, yarn, and basic stitches to get you started on your journey. This class is appropriate for ages 9+. Arlington Veterans Park Hosts Memorial Day Service
The Arlington Veterans Park Foundation hosts its second annual Memorial Day Service, in Veterans Park at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 26, 2025. The ceremony will be held at the Memorial to the Fallen, a monument inside Veterans Park that was dedicated on Veterans Day in November 2023. Veteran Park is located at 3600 W. Arkansas Lane.
