Two of Arlington’s golf courses have been named among the Top 50 Public Golf Courses in Texas by the Dallas Morning News, reinforcing the city’s reputation as a top-tier destination for golfers of all skill levels.
Tierra Verde and Texas Rangers Golf Club were ranked No. 28 and No. 29, respectively, in the annual list. Among courses located in North Texas, both facilities ranked within the Top 10.
The Morning News asked 81 golf professionals, golf course architects, superintendents, people involved in the golf industry and amateurs to rank courses in Texas on a 10-point scale. The courses were ranked on versatility, shotmaking, design, afterthoughts, beauty, maintenance and enjoyment.
In addition to this statewide recognition, both courses were also featured in the Top 5 of AvidGolfer Magazine’s latest DFW Public Course Rankings, with Texas Rangers Golf Club landing at No. 2 and Tierra Verde Golf Club at No. 5.
Texas Rangers Golf Club recently hosted the 2025 Veritex Bank Championship, welcoming professional golfers from around the world to Arlington and the only PGA Korn Ferry Tour stop in Texas.
“This recognition from both The Dallas Morning News and AvidGolfer reflects the commitment of our staff and the City of Arlington in providing an elite golf experience for residents and visitors alike,” said Mike Berneburg, PGA, Golf Services Manager. “We take great pride in the playability, conditioning, and service standards at all of our courses, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see them ranked among the best in the state.”
