The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that resulted in the death of a 24-year-old man.

On Friday, May 16, 2025, at approximately 11:43 a.m., officers responded to the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 287 near Sublett Road to investigate a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

When they arrived on scene, they found the 24-year-old motorcycle rider lying on the ground. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased from his injuries.

Witnesses told officers the young man was splitting lanes and making multiple lane changes just prior to the wreck.

Investigators determined he hit the back fender of a Ford F-150 as he attempted to switch lanes, causing him to be thrown from his bike. They believe a GMC Sierra that was in an adjacent lane then ran over the motorcycle rider and continued driving.

The driver of the F-150 immediately stopped, called 911, and remained on scene. He was not injured and is not facing any criminal charges in connection to this incident.

Investigators are working to identify and locate the driver of the Sierra. The vehicle is described as a black GMC Sierra, possibly early 2010’s model, with a lift kit and large tires. Anyone with information is urged to call Crash Investigator Bridges at (817) 575-8604. Tipsters can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at (817) 469-8477.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.
