Hey there, Arlington neighbors! Get ready to witness the future of delivery right in your own backyard!

Next week, from May 12 to 16, you might spot some new, eco-friendly visitors zipping around East Arlington and near The University of Texas at Arlington campus. Don't be surprised if you see small, electric vehicles cruising down your street or even soaring overhead!

These cutting-edge autonomous delivery vehicles are part of the City of Arlington's Multimodal Delivery pilot program, which is testing out innovative ways to deliver goods while being kind to our planet. The project will use one autonomous, electric ground vehicle provided by Mozee and two uncrewed, electric aircraft provided by Aerialoop to complete the deliveries.

During this week, these vehicles will be busy delivering approximately 150 boxes of nonperishable food to participating households in Arlington. This initiative is exploring how efficient and scalable these autonomous, electric vehicles can be in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and helping our community. You might remember our successful first round of deliveries back in September 2024!

This project is a true team effort, thanks to the collaboration between the City of Arlington, Tarrant Area Food Bank, The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities Coalition (hosted at the NCTCOG), Airspace Link, Aerialoop, and Mozee.
