The Arlington Police Department is investigating a crash that resulted in the death of a 51-year-old man.
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at approximately 6:24 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Eden Road and Golf Club Drive for a collision involving a GMC Acadia and a motorcycle. When they arrived on scene, they found the 51-year-old man – who was riding the motorcycle -- lying unresponsive in the roadway. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased from his injuries.
Investigators determined the driver of the Acadia attempted to turn left from the westbound lanes of Eden Road onto Golf Club Drive as the motorcycle, which was traveling eastbound on Eden Road, approached the intersection. As a result, the two vehicles collided and the motorcycle rider was thrown from his bike. He was not wearing a helmet at the time.
The driver of the Acadia stopped, remained on scene, and was cooperative with the investigation. He told officers he did not see the motorcycle prior to the collision. He was not injured and is not currently facing any criminal charges in connection to the crash.
Officers later found narcotics in the pants pocket of the motorcycle rider and have not ruled out the possibility he may have been intoxicated.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the motorcycle rider.
