An in-custody death of a suspect occurred following a vehicle pursuit connected to a domestic violence incident that happened overnight.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2025, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of Holly Oak Street. The caller reported seeing a man attempting to run over a woman with his vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers briefly spoke with the suspect, who was inside his vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene in his car, a 4-door Nissan Altima.

It was later discovered that the suspect had violently assaulted the victim, causing serious injuries. The suspect’s vehicle was entered into the Flock camera system. Around 2 a.m., it was located traveling westbound on Interstate 20 near the Arlington–Fort Worth border. Officers also learned the suspect was on parole for aggravated kidnapping.

A pursuit was initiated and ultimately ended in Denton County. After the vehicle came to a stop, officers attempted to have the suspect exit. When there was no response, a drone was deployed to observe the suspect, and officers believed he was in medical distress. They approached the vehicle and immediately began life-saving measures, including administering Narcan.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Narcotics were recovered from the vehicle.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will release the name of the suspect once the next of kin has been notified.
