The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Thursday morning in the 1700 block of West Abram Street.
At approximately 7:24 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area after receiving reports that a motorcycle had struck a pole. When they arrived on scene, they located the rider, a 56-year-old woman, lying unconscious in the roadway. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
A witness reported that the motorcyclist lost control of her bike before striking the pole and being ejected.
Westbound Abram Street remains closed as crash investigators continue to process the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Crash investigators are working to determine what caused the rider to lose control. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
