Arlington Water Utilities compiles testing data each spring from the previous calendar year to give residents a full picture of their water quality, where it comes from, and how it gets to their tap.

The newest edition of the city’s Consumer Confidence Report, or Water Quality Report, is now online at www.ArlingtonTX.gov/waterccr. A Spanish-language version of the report is online at www.ArlingtonTX.gov/waterccre

The annual report is required by the EPA and the water department’s state regulatory authority, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Some of the highlights of the seven-page document include:

  • Arlington Water Utilities employees work hard every day to provide tap water that meets all requirements for safety set by federal and state regulations. Like most of the tap water in Texas, Arlington’s water supply comes from what is known as surface water.
  • In 2024, the Arlington Water Utilities Laboratory analyzed 7,258 samples for 266 different substances. The 15-member staff at the lab have a combined 157 years of laboratory experience.
  • In October 2024, Arlington Water Utilities released the results of an 18-month-long water service line inventory. The inventory, which is available to the public at ArlingtonTX.gov/sli, began after the EPA updated guidelines for lead and copper monitoring by public drinking water providers. None of the water services lines in Arlington were found to be made of lead.
