Planning a trip to the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport between now and October? With historic construction activity taking place across the airport’s roads and terminals, airline customers are encouraged to travel more prepared than ever before.
What’s Happening?
The International Parkway Project at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), which is transitioning access into Terminals A, B and C into right-hand exits from International Parkway, is preparing for the next phase of construction – demolishing the existing flyover bridge into Terminal B and completing the connection of the new bridge into the terminal’s roadways.
This work is scheduled to begin the first week of August 2025 with a set of required changes to traffic flow, including detours into Terminal B and when exiting Terminal A. With the impacts expected to last approximately 90 days, a robust plan for detour signage is being implemented to guide customers.
At the completion of this phase of the project, customers will access Terminal B via a new right-hand exit from International Parkway. This is the first of three similar construction phases, each to last approximately 90 days with various detours and closures in effect. Following Terminal B will be the connection of the new bridge into Terminal A, then Terminal C.
Detour: Arriving to Terminal B – From the South
Beginning Aug. 6, 2025, Terminal B will only be accessible via the southbound entrance into the terminal from International Parkway. Customers arriving from the south, headed northbound through the airport, will be required to travel northbound past all terminal entrances and take the left-hand U-turn exit before the North Exit Plaza to return to southbound International Parkway. Then, customers will take the existing left-hand exit to Terminal B and keep left for temporary access into the terminal. Detour signage will be in place to guide traffic.
Detour: Arriving to Terminal B – From the North
Customers arriving from the north will continue to take the existing left-hand exit to Terminal B; however, traffic will then keep left for a slightly different path into the terminal.
To assist with traffic flow during this time, customers entering the terminal area through the North Entry Plaza are encouraged to follow visual cues for lane designation by terminal.
Detour: All Traffic to Exit Terminal A to the North
Beginning Aug. 3, 2025, all customers exiting Terminal A to return to International Parkway will be directed to the North Exit. Customers seeking a southbound exit from the terminal area can take the left-hand U-turn before the North Exit Plaza to return southbound on International Parkway.
